10 "sleeps" and counting until we get on the plane to FLY AWAY! Who are "we"? Sue and Kelly Thielman, Betsy and Katie Sue Linn. A small team, but hoping to do great things in the powerful name of Jesus. To where, you ask? We have the privilege of going to Mombasa, Kenya to be the hands and feet of Jesus to orphans who have been infected and/or affected with AIDS. We will be serving at the Tumaini Children's Home. Tumaini means "hope" in Swahili. This orphanage is a place of hope for 70 precious children. We don't know exactly what we will be doing while we're there, but we are confident that God has figured out how we can be used most effectively, and will fill us in on His specific plan when we get there. We pray we can communicate His extravagant love to "the least of these" in Mombasa.
It's hard to believe we can finally say next week! We leave on Friday, July 31st and after flying through Minneapolis, London and Nairobi, arrive in Mombasa Sunday morning, August 2nd. We have a "few things to do" as my brother would say, before we go. We have 2 out of 4 visas returned, with the other 2 due in 2 days. We have all had our shots (ouch!) and are taking the meds required. I guess we just need to actually pack and get things in order here at home so our families are prepared for us to be gone for 16 days . . . Oh, and Sue and Kelly have to come back into the country from their Caribbean cruise first.
